Goal for today: Finish at least TWO sources!  This means that you have completed the notes page for each source.  Remember--each source must have a min. of two DQs or Paraphrases.  I will check these as soon as you are ready, but the first two are due BY tomorrow, December 1st.  It is your job to show them to me by the beginning of class tomorrow, or they will be counted late.  The rest of your sources are due on Monday, December 5th.  KEEP IN TOUCH WITH ME! REMEMBER, FALLING BEHIND IN THE RESEARCH PROCESS IS NOT FUN! :)

Do not forget to read and annotate chapters 1 & 2 of Lord of the Flies.  Your annotations should have two focal points: author's craft & plot elements (setting, characterization, conflicts).  
Furthermore, you should be able to answer the following questions after reading:
  1. How did the boys arrive on the island?
  2. How did Piggy get his name?
  3. What are the main personality and physical traits of the following characters:
  • Ralph
  • Piggy
  • Samn'Eric
  • Jack
     4. What is the purpose of the shell?  What does it symbolize?
     5. Research the allusions to:

  • Coral Island
